York Regional Health Services inspectors recently closed two Vaughan eateries for infractions under the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

On Oct. 5, Sa Ri Won Korean BBQ, located at 7388 Yonge St. in Thornhill, was ordered shut after an insect infestation was discovered. It re-opened Oct. 9.

A few days earlier, a fire-damaged Concord restaurant was closed. Vinnie Zucchini’s Italian Eatery, located at 9100 Jane St., was shut on Sept. 30. It re-opened two days later on Oct. 2.

Restaurant closures in York Region remain rare. Fire-damaged eateries are ordered to close as a matter of course.
