Cops looking for three suspects after armed bank robbery in Vaughan
The York police holdup squad is appealing to the public for help identifying and tracking down three suspects wanted in connection with a bank heist.
At about 11:20 a.m. on July 15, two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the Royal Bank branch at 6140 Hwy. 7 and demanded money from two tellers, police say.
After getting a quantity of cash handed to them by the victims, the suspects fled to a waiting getaway car driven by a third suspect, police say.
Described as a newer-model, four-door, dark-brown Acura, the suspect car was last seen headed west on Hwy. 7 from Vaughan Valley Blvd. toward Hwy. 427.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
Police describe the first suspect as a male in his late 20s, black, 5-foot-8, 160 pounds with a slim build and brown hair, possibly in dreadlocks. He was wearing faded baggy blue jeans, a white shirt underneath a black hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, a black hat and square black sunglasses. A black cloth covered his face and he was armed with a black handgun, police say.
The second suspect is described as male, black, in his late 20s, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing dark jeans, white gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black baseball hat with an unknown orange logo and orange brim, and black sunglasses. His face was covered with a black cloth and he was carrying a knapsack, police say.
No description is available for the third suspect.
