Motive unclear, 4 men sought after serious assault
WOODBRIDGE – Police are asking the public for help as they investigate a serious assault that occurred in Woodbridge on Aug. 9.
Two friends were walking in the Weston Rd. and Ashberry Blvd. area around 7:10 p.m. when a car pulled up beside them. Four males got out of the car and physically assaulted one of the individuals with weapons, including a piece of pipe, police say.
The suspects fled south in the car, which is described as an older-model, green, four-door Honda Civic.
The victim went to hospital suffering from serious injuries. As of press time, he was still recovering in hospital.
Investigators have yet to uncover a reason for the attack, Constable Marina Orlovski said Wednesday.
Police describe the first suspect as male, Middle Eastern, 19–21 years old, 5-foot-7, with a thin build and a medium complexion. He spoke Farsi, had a scraggy beard and shaved head, and was wearing black Capri-style pants.
The second suspect is described as male, Middle Eastern, 19–21 years old, 5-foot-7, with a thin build and a medium complexion. He spoke Farsi, was carrying a knapsack and wore jeans and a black sweater, police say.
Police describe the third suspect as male, Middle Eastern, 19–21 years old. He also spoke Farsi.
The fourth suspect is a male, Middle Eastern, 19–21 years old, police say.
