Quick arrests made after Woodbridge home invaded

Uniformed and Canine Unit officers made two quick arrests in connection with an armed home invasion in Woodbridge Tuesday afternoon.

At about 12:10 p.m. on Jan. 13, two suspects in disguises forced their way into a home on Davos Rd., police say. One was armed with a handgun, the other with a crowbar.

Two victims were restrained and a third confined, but not before one managed to call 911, police say. While the victims were being held, one of the suspects went through the home.

Officers responded quickly to the emergency call and immediately nabbed one of the suspects in the backyard. The second suspect was tracked down a short distance away.

Police seized a Taser, a loaded handgun and a vehicle used by the suspects.

One suspect was treated for a minor dog bite. The victims weren’t hurt.

Anolauk Chalernouk, 23, of Richmond Hill, and Khoi Nguyen, 23, of Toronto, face several charges, including robbery, forcible confinement, point firearm, weapons dangerous and disguise with intent.

Both were set to appear in Newmarket court Wednesday.
